Sad story
My late wife Jenn’s birthday is coming up on September 11, and I found out today that my daughter Hannah and my niece are planning to bake some cupcakes with purple icing – Jenn’s favorite color – so as to do something special in memory of her. But it turns out that Hannah had the idea that Jenn was going to come down from heaven and take one, and my niece was saying to her, “No, we talked about this, It doesn’t work that way. Mommy isn’t Santa Clause. When you go up to heaven you don’t come back.” Hannah started crying because she was apparently holding out some hope that Jenn would come down from heaven to take one of the cupcakes.

Haunted CDs
Today, I took a bunch of CDs to FYE to sell, and I was telling the clerk how some of the CDs had painful memories associated with them connected with my wife. For example, one of them was the Shania Twain CD that includes, “From This Moment,” which was the song me and Jenn danced to at our wedding. From there, we started making dark jokes about how these CDs were haunted. In fact, her cash register went haywire at one point, and she said it must be the haunted CDs. As I was leaving, I told her, “Watch out for those haunter CDs.”
